Dimitrios Savvas is a full Professor in Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) since 2015. Since October 2016 he is the Director of the Laboratory of Vegetable Production. He specializes in plant nutrition, water management, soilless culture and vegetable grafting with emphasis on greenhouse crops. He has published over 80 papers in refereed international scientific journals and many other papers in congress proceedings and as book chapters. He is a member of the Editorial Board of Scientia Horticulturae, Environmental & Experimental Botany, Agricultural Water Management and European Journal of Horticultural Science. He has been involved in many EU research projects, either as coordinator or as a member of the research team. Since 2017 he is the coordinator of the AUA team in two HORIZON2020 research projects TOMRES and TRUE. In his keynote he will talk about current trends and challenges in nutrition of soilless cropping systems.
