City tour Freising
There will be three different guided tours:
Tour 1: From Weihenstephan to the historic city (fully booked!)
The walk starts at the remains of the former Benedictine monastery Weihenstephan and the Bavarian State Brewery of the same name - where the heart of the art of brewing beats. Passing the Hofgarten and Apothekergarten, we go downwards the southern slope of the Weihenstephaner Berg. This leads us to the ruins of the Korbinianskapelle with the Korbiniansbrünnl below. According to legend, its source was awakened by Saint Corbinian, the patron saint of the city of Freising. The well water is said to have caused miracles and healings. The tunnel, which leads to the little fountain, is not only considered by art historians to be the oldest surviving masonry in the city of Freising, but is also one of the oldest spring sanctuaries in Bavaria with an age of up to 1200 years. Before crossing the former Freising-Bavarian state border and entering the historic city, we will visit the Sporrerkeller, which was used as beer cellar since the 18th century.
Tour 2: The Asam family - artistic genius and entrepreneurship
Immerse yourself in the rich world of Baroque colours and shapes! We will help you to decipher the mysterious pictorial language. During the tour we will visit the Asam Hall of the former Lyceum - today the theatre hall of the Asam building - as well as the interior of the Maximilian Chapel. You will learn about the historical and artistic context in which the Asam family accomplished these great achievements. They are undisputedly among the most important representatives of Bavarian Baroque art, and their works can also be found in Bohemia, Austria, Switzerland and Baden-Württemberg.
Tour 3: The historic city of Freising - past and now (fully booked!)
Together with our city guides, discover the winding streets of Freising's town and learn interesting facts about the special features of the oldest city on the Isar between the magnificent facades, the town hall, the parish church of St. George and the former canons' houses. Marvel at the almost 4000-year history of the Domberg and hear interesting facts about the development of the former prince-bishop's residence. Furthermore, you will see how the historic old town of Freising is getting fit for the city of tomorrow. The heart of the redesign is undoubtedly the uncovering of the Stadtmoosach in the area of the Obere Hauptstraße. Experience and enjoy the generously designed urban space at the steps of the open stream. Find out first-hand how the conversion went, what difficulties had to be overcome and judge for yourself the newly won quality of stay.
People, who had registered for the city tour have received a link to select their desired tour (first come, first serve). If you want to participate and have not registered yet, please contact the organisation team.

City tour Munich
Nighttime guided tour through Munich's old town
The night watchman takes you back 800 years, into medieval times. Munich is a small city, no more than 400 meters in diameter, surrounded by a protective wall. From dusk till dawn, the gates are closed, and citizens must stay at home. The only light visible in the dark streets is the lantern of the night watchman, who keeps watch for any dangers to the townsfolk. People know little and believe much, as most cannot read or write. They are superstitious, and life is governed by the „divine order“ Join the night watchman on his journey through the „City of the Monks“. Listen to his stories about medieval life, from the cradle to the grave.
